Quick Reference: Google Advanced Operators (Cheat Sheet)

Filed under: Google around 4:22 am

Awesome reference for how to find exactly what you want with Google and the proper syntax to do it. A better layout than googles help pages. Claims to have used their permission; which is interesting, if true.

Nice to have this put together. This is the most complete sheet I have seen yet. This left out my very very favorite, the ‘index of /(topic)’ search, which I use for everything from MP3s to clip art.

Google Earth, Google Moon, and Beyond…

Filed under: Google around 5:38 am

Here’s a list of the domain names Google registered

I’m sure they just register every google* domain that they think they may use so people don’t squat. It is pretty standard and doesn’t really mean there is active development on GoogleOS. Pretty soon there will be googlemyhouse product that finds things that you are looking for, once everything has RFIDs or something; Or GoogleMyFridge to see what food you have without having to walk all the way to the kitchen.

I want to know how long it takes until it is popular to hate google like everyone hates Microsoft?

Google Adds Two New Features

Filed under: Google around 9:12 pm

“Over the last few months, we’ve been talking with numerous publishers, publishing industry organizations and authors about our Google Print Publisher Program and Google Print Library Project. Today I’d like to mention two new features that reflect these discussions and which we feel will considerably improve both programs.”

When I first look at that I thought it said “Making boobs easier to find” .. lol. A Public service at its best (with revenue …) Truly a Universal Library in the making.

Just one step further towards Google controlling the world’s information. You think MS is bad? MS only tried to control how you got your information. Google will index the information itself so you can find it easier. I think Google is actually a step back for the service.

Google CEO Still Uses Yahoo Email Address

Filed under: Google, Interesting Findings around 9:01 pm

Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, still uses his Yahoo email address on his hompage months after the launch of Google’s GMail email service.

Maybe no one has sent him an invite yet, or maybe he’s waiting until Gmail is out of Beta or he’s used this one for a long time, and doesn’t wanna change! Hopefully, he’s going to take down his homepage once he realizes it makes him look bad.

Did anyone ever think to check out registration or anything? It’s through earthlink… now do you think a google CEO would create a website through EARTHLINK?! umm not happening, unless its his old site. Yes i know the phone number is to google… but really who cares because obviously this sites not current…. People just trying to get on googles case.

From the looks of it, and you may also fail to realize, that the CEO of Google wouldn’t be using GMail….. He would have some local, internal address of like e.schmidt@google.com or eric@google.com or eschmidt@google.com His site isn’t content rich, and I am sure he doesn’t want to get THOUSANDS of emails so he posts a dummy address, meanwhile other google executives can contact him at any time with his real address.

Besides, its a yahoo address, and it’s posted in it’s entirity on a website, so spam bots can pick it up with no strain. Think about all the spam he gets…. The CEO of Google may have had a Yahoo account at one time, or it could be fake… Does the CEO even own that domain?

Nobody cares, and if they do care, they need to get a life.

Google Netcam Hack

Filed under: Google, Net Security around 8:49 pm

People put cameras on the net without a password and we can get into them. The keyword here in Google is: inurl:”ViewerFrame?Mode=”

Anyone find any cool ones?

I found some dock and malls and street cameras and other crap, a beach view, some really nice cars, and a computer room somewhere. It is hilarious. Hint: Pan the camera around the room a bit. Zoom in to read the poster on the guy’s cubicle.

Link to the actual search query… or try this one

This seems to be a lot like unsecured WiFi from a legal standpoint. Who’s ultimately to blame for this? Is it the webcam owner for not securing their camera? Is it Google for not blocking this content? Or are we, the end users, to blame for “intruding” on their webcam. What happens if someone doesn’t secure a webcam in a day care center, or a hospital?

Personally, I think it’s clearly the responsibility of the owner of the webcam. I bet the law would feel differently, though…

Google Finds ADMIN Passwords

Filed under: Google, Net Security around 8:48 pm

Google can find just about anything. Here is THE Master list of all kinds os sensitive stuff Google can find. Password lists, Admin usernames/passwords, logs….EVERYTHING.

Words cannot describe how amazingly amazing this is. Google truly is a hacker’s/cracker’s best friend. But careful what you do with info on this site. in many cases, the stuff you’re accessing is against the law to access without permission, even if it’s accidentally made public. bear in mind that since many site admins are aware of this database, they may already have a honeypot waiting for you. just a word of warning for any script kiddies out there. have fun, and don’t put an eye out!

Here’s another one that i dont see there. Search this: inurl:service.pwd

If the link above doesn’t work, have no fear, google cache is here!

Google finds stuff people put online for all to see. If you leave a password file anywhere where Google can access and find it, deserves to be hacked.

Here’s another one that catches my eye, this guy basically wrote a tutorial on finding passwords using google.

Use Google as a Phonebook

Filed under: Google around 8:48 pm

Google has added the convenience of US street address and phone number lookup to the information they provide through the search box. I’m not so sure of what to think of being able to find a map to my house in a couple of clicks though…

They’ve been doing this for a while now, which is why you don’t see the word “New!” next to it in the list. If you’d like a good summary for that site that you can give to your non-geek friends, check here.

Google’s new(?) sponsored links search

Filed under: Google around 8:47 pm

I don’t know how new this is but you can now search through they sponsored links, such as google adwords. why would this be useful you say? Well if you use google adwords, you can see who you’re up against for certain keywords. Kinda cool I guess.

How to use Google to find wariaez

Filed under: Google around 8:08 pm

Finding wariaez (or piratitod software) with Google is surprisingly easy (Hehehe.. note the spelling confusion - I don’t want any bots to mark this site). Since the MPAA has shown that linking to piratitod content is illegal, by shutting down several bit torrent sites; i think its only fair that the MPAA shut google down.

In China piracy is rampant and law enforcement is lax, so the warez sites don’t get shut down so much. And also possibly the keyword spammers who ruin Google’s results haven’t got around to spamming chinese keywords yet, so you can still get good results for them.

Anyway, I don’t think there are copyright laws or any sort of IP enforcement in China, thus rampant piracy. If you don’t have any morals at all, it’s a good idea to get some free wariaez there on vacation.
