What the crap?

Filed under: Ntahapehape, Eye Catching around 6:03 am

This is quite frankly the strangest thing I’ve ever seen… In one part the guy seemed to be dancing in a big thing of weed.

After watching this I suddenly feel the need to buy an SUV and fix it up to pollute as much as possible. This is very strange. Who is this guy?

Learn how to fold a shirt in 2 seconds

Filed under: Eye Catching around 6:00 am

2 meg video clip and step by step instructions included. It seems like I saw a women do this on Letterman about a month or two ago.

OK, WTF just happened?!?!

* Step 1, grab two points on the shirt.
* Step 2, BOOM! Folded shirt.

It’s like a money shot, except instead you get a folded shirt. Same level of excitement too!

That is absolutely insane. I tried it using the step by step instructions. It’s a bit unclear after you make the first fold and you have one hand in the shirt and one hand out. you have to GRAB in both places, then do that flick. It seems almost like you’re turning it inside-out, but it works out in the end. This’ll cut folding time considerably. This makes me want to throw away all my coat hangers and buy drawers just so I can do this nifty folding trick more often.

Eventually I just went back to my old technique because it was faster. If you don’t get the shirt flattened out perfectly it won’t work that well. It’d work great if you’re in the retail business and are trying to fold clothes for your customer. The problem I had was that I thought you pinch the entire shirt on the bottom pinch, but you only pinch the top layer. If you had difficulty then try pausing it and going through it a few frames at a time!

Summary:

  1. Find the center of the shirt (top/bottom)
  2. Find center between neck and where the side of the shirt is (left/right)
  3. At the intersection, pinch shirt
  4. From the intersection with your other hand, go up in a straight line to the top of the shirt and pinch
  5. Pull the top of the shirt straight down to the bottom and add the first layer of the shirt to the pinch
  6. Pull out the intersection pinch
  7. Lay shirt face down and pull it over it self to meet other side of shirt
  8. Tuck the sleeve that is left over underneath the shirt

Stupidest Guy on the Internet

Filed under: Ntahapehape, Eye Catching around 5:57 am

Online identity theft is a real problem. Especially for this guy. I want to believe that this is real, but… I’m thinking either photoshop or the guy who posted it is the guy who stole a wallet. I wouldn’t doubt if it is all the same guy who posted the story

Probably from some dead guy’s wallet he found floating in the river by his house. The dead guy he stole this off of won’t like this one bit!

Any one savvy enough to know how to scan and publish something on the Internet (complete with an annoying pop up message) can’t be stupid enough to give out his social… or can they? You shouldn’t carry your ss card in your wallet anyway. If you lost you wallet, you can cancel credit cards, but your SSN is a whole lot more of a pain.

Starwars Ep 3 English -> Chinese -> English

Filed under: Ntahapehape, Eye Catching around 5:54 am

These are screen shots from a dvd that was translated into Chinese and then subtitled back into English. Makes for some very, very funny engrish sentences.

Huh?? Jedi Council = Presbyterian Church? Hahahhhaaa.. Sides still hurts from laughing so hard. Maybe somebody just copied/pasted from Babelfish, which seems entirely likely here. Strangely enough, Yoda’s dialog translated perfectly…

I have no doubt that this is a real attempt at translation - before the OT came out on DVD, I had some “non-retail” versions which included english subtitles…me and my friends watched them all in one night because they were so hilarious..I would love to have this copy..

I remember reading some Lord of the Rings subtitles like this. Very very funny stuff. This has also been done to all 3 of the LOTR movies as well.

Make fire with ice.

Filed under: Eye Catching around 5:51 am

Make fire from ice, it is possible :) .

A novel application of a technique originally devoloped for burning polar bears’ eyes while under attack. This is much more practical. Now the next time i am in the wilderness in the middle of winter without matches and need some fire, i will be sure to go and build an apparatus to freeze ice without air bubbles in it then carve a sphere out of it… hehe pardon my sarcasm but really how plausible is this? thought i admit i do want a big sphere of ice…

You’d have more luck rubbing two sticks together. Or just taking a lighter in a plastic bag with you. Interesting read, but this really isn’t plausible for survival purposes unless you’re MacGuyver, in which case you can form a perfect ice sphere with your ungloved hands out of a snowball. If you’re going camping, don’t bring a big sphere of ice. Instead, just bring a lighter.

Seen it before.. it’s up there along with using a chocolate bar and a pop can to start a fire. Well, first aluminum (coke and chocolate), now ice… what’s next……glass?

Good Fonts for Grapic Designers

Filed under: Eye Catching, Interesting Findings around 5:48 am

A great resource listing 300 good fonts for graphic designers. They are free to download in .ttf format (works on both MacOSX and Windows machines). A nice way of wading through the enormous list of fonts available on the web nicely organized.

I hate searching for a font only to be asked to pay at the very end when I have already decided I like it. This is a great resource. Just in case anyone is wondering, if you want to download all these fonts, use the Down Them All! Firefox extension and choose *.ttf. Save them all to a folder and drag all of them into the Windows Fonts folder. Done :)

It’s great to not have to look through hundreds of junk fonts. This will be truly useful, especially since it also breaks it down into types of fonts.

In addition, I’d recommend DaFont. Their collection is huge, and includes most of the fonts covered. Just check the licensing before using any of them in a commercial project, as it varies, depending.

Other interesting sites: 1001fonts.com
and Larabie Fonts .

Hacking Illustrated

Filed under: Net Security, Eye Catching around 5:38 am

A step by step guide on how to execute various exploits or use certain tools.

I always wonder if it’s smart to publish this kind of stuff to all. Sure, there are those that want to exploit to point out weakness, but there are others that will fall to the dark side. Hmm… Those videos are so jerky and there better ways to do the things he show how to do.

Google or surf USENET and the Internet to find more useful things. Pages are good. Documentation and hacker portals are even better. Actually this guy is very, very intelligent. He is called Irongeek. He isn’t fat, (He is actually into body building) and he isn’t a loser. He is somewhat well known in the world of computer security. His tutorials are actually quite good. No one person knows all the tricks. This guy is just sharing some of what he has learned.

Dilbert’s Ultimate Cubicle

Filed under: Eye Catching around 5:26 am

Honestly the coolest piece of furniture i’ve ever seen. It was designed by IDEO the company that designed the apple computer mouse, the original laptop computer and Crest’s Neat Squeeze stand-up toothpaste tube. It features some cool items like a hammock, Sun lights, Self timing guest seat, and a drink temperature control for the desk.
