Podcast now officially in the Oxford English Dictionary

Filed under: Interesting Findings around 8:33 pm

It’s official - podcast is now a recognised word. This is going to piss off Bill Gates. It’s officially unstoppable now! A modified compound of ‘iPod’ and ‘broadcast’, referring to Apple’s personal media player and the method of delivering content to it; concept reinforced by ‘pod’ rhyming with ‘broad’.

The oxford definition is wrong. There’s no mention of RSS and subscriptions, which are key details of a podcast. Otherwise, a “podcast” is just an audio file. I can’t wait until Microsoft hops on the podcast train and renames it, podcast is a horrible name….

Those people will put anything in a dictionary…u remember muggle and “badabing”?? Well, screw the dictionary if you say something and someone else knows what you mean - then it’s a word.
