MSN Virtual Maps vs. Google Earth

Microsoft previewed on Monday a layered, geo-mapping service featuring aerial photographs (taken over cities at a 45-degree angle) and satellite images that it promised for later this year. This service will help MSN compete against some Google maps.

This is an excellent resource for sightseeing through Google Sightseeing. Google Maps just updated with high res aerial photography from a bunch of places around the world including London, Paris, Kuwait City, and more. This is very cool.

Leave it to Google to raise the bar on themselves. Google maps just continues to become more and more fantastic. However, almost no one outside of the inside tech community has heard of it. They need to turn up the publicity on this project, maybe giving it a link on the google.com homepage.

Last I heard, Google ignores keywords and has the majority of the search market. Design content first, then build the keywords from it. So, step one actually should be moved to step 7.

Content is king. Sites exist to be used, not indexed by spiders.
